Most visitors to Bridport will have noticed Colmer’s Hill. Rising 417ft above Symondsbury Village, Colmers Hill is a symmetrical sandstone cone topped by seven Caledonian pines straining to retain their roots against a cruel west wind.

It’s a photographer’s dream. Take a leisurely walk to the summit, enjoy wonderful views over Bridport and West Bay then returning for refreshments in Symondsbury Village.

View the footpath map here. Be aware that the ascent is steep in places. Both the hillside paths and Shute’s Lane can be muddy and slippery in wet weather.
